New Radicals - Maybe You've been Brainwashed Too LYRICS

I come, you're there when I call you

I come, turn me around, baby, inside, yeah

I come pickin' my fight, back just around you, yeah

I come, don't matter why, yeah

You stay around, yeah

You're runnin' outta space

You run, you're down, you thumb it in my face

Your soul is black. Just carry'n it around and I, yeah, ho

I call, it's over the phone, again too soon, choo, choo

I'm you and me, I'm all the answers. I am the bim bum bim

Ooh, you make me wild, yeah

You and me

My only desire is to hide.

Keep up, keep up

Ooo, na, ooo, na, ooo, no, ooo, na

Ooo, na, ooo, na, ooo, na, ooo, na

Ooo, da, ooo, da hoo, lay, oh

You're set for doin' my new dance,

the baboon, the baboon, the baboon, yeah

Heh, heh. Shit on it

Come on, its you

You're ridin' on the floor.

It's out back

It's out the door

It's here, it's there, but baby, it's ev'ry where buy I hide

Whatever makes you live,

Whatever makes you high,

Whatever makes you smile

You make me feel wild, yeah

You make me feel child, ooh, yeah

You make me feel wi-ild,

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa , whoa, ooh.

Well, no matter what I will be there for you

In awhile we're gon' try

LYRICS from Book

Consider the fact that

Maybe you've been brainwashed too

Many will tell you otherwise

I bet you trust your bank

Just wait until it tanks

Your parents had it planned

We're almost like them?

Fun, racist professional sports

Management gets the real rewards

Multi-national owned evening news

If we believe we're fools

You watch 4.5 hours of t.v a day

And we should listen to what you say?

Opinions on life and the world

You eat at the Hard Rock abroad and disrespect your girl

Sexism is so ingrained

that women get the blame

Is it smug middle-class satisfaction you peddle?

Better hope your car don't break down in the Ghetto

Rich companies lobby best

Use their products, prepare to lose a breast

Why your sick mother's health insurance got

"Accidentally" cancelled is no mystery

Somebody's paying the government a lot

To have access to everybody's medical history

Greedy banks bought all the farms

Chemical food, aren't our lives charmed

Teenagers baited, their money spent

With credit cards at twenty percent

Too broke to worry about the loan

Their funkin turning off your phone

And politics, a f***ing joke

Right and left; they're both a hoax

Just hope the "international" markets don't crash!

Rock 'n' Roll! Some truth? Alas!

Careerist cowards sucking ass

Is real investigative reporting dead?

Of course, but keep watching your CNN

The glitz, the glamor, all jokes aside

If a sponsor pays enough, they'd turn a blind eye

On third world genocide

"Bro, don't get heavy, the bills are paid!"

Twice a week (missionary style) we all get laid

Middle management goes first, you're out on your ass

Most ignorance is bred at home

Good Christian families? then why condone

Petty hatred of anythng different or new

The fat girl hung herself in June

No love at home, they thought she was strong

Her classmates made her up her own song

"Piggy Peggy ate everyone's pie"

"The kids moved on," one teacher cried

The kids switched targets

The week after she died

Well? human nature won't change much

Unless we make a shameful bunch

Of those we see so glaringly

Who show hate, ignorance, and hypocracy

Don't be a coward - make a stand!

Get in their face - act like a ham

Let people know it's not PC

To be greedy and judgemental under the guise of religion and democracy

Get loud and stand up every time

If you even give a f*** about mankind

Cuz if human nature don't evolve soon

Don't kid yourself, you're f***ing doomed!

Don't run away from change and growth

Let's start right now, "I take the oath!"

But first accept one simple truth

That maybe you've been brainwashed too

I half expected you to put the lyrics from the album cover, I thought it was trippy how they didn't match up with this song at all.

The lyrics are different than the ones in the book... could I have been brainwashed, too?

Reminds me of Prince... When the Dove's Cry... Except this is a much better song! I wish Gregg was still singing...

Still love this band. All the unreleased stuff you've posted is brilliant! Incidentally I've just looked at the printed lyrics for this one and I'm pretty sure they predict the global financial crisis that followed some ten years later. If only we'd listened!

@Lexis6 Gregg got sick of the mainstream lifestyle of touring and doing all the press and just said that lifestyle was just not for him. The guy got bored with being at the front of a band and got sick of the media hunt and settled for his real passion of working behind the scenes. So he's a producer/writer now and seems to be happy doing that. He wrote 'All in the Game of Love' for Santana and Michelle Branch. I'm glad he's still apart of the industry.

actually, MCA Records censored the original lyrics if you bought the CD, you will notice the lyrics is different compared to the lyrics provided with the CD and whats with the baboon baboon thing? this track is the most powerful ever if the lyrics are sung correctly.
