best album ever. when this came out and The Smiths, The Shamen, Erasure, the club scene was so fun. I miss college!

(Sorry - mistake in 1st comment. "Round and Round" was released in 89 as a single, also on the album in that year, not 1990.)

<3 (cont) It's worth saying the terms "balearic" in club music, "balearic beat", "balearic house" all have rather wide meanings & the word truly incorporates everything from ambient house & chill-out music to this track which I'd put a few comments is partly Hi-Nrg electro disco. I never got the connection with balearic club music (Ibiza, Majorca etc) & Soul II Soul style, however, as Mixmag alleged in 1990. To me that was a London, more South London, and elsewhere thing, & related to US soul.

<2 (cont) ...Just remembering I loved this before the single release, & of the deep, deep effect as balearic acid house it had on me (probably due to related stimulation also, what a time). However, if you get too into it, things change!? I know some will say, "it's electro disco, maybe disco house, but not acid house - where' the 303 sound (etc)?" But I think it was an essential part of Balearic acid house clubs once. I always wondered is that Hooky on bass, it sounds like a brilliant machine

Yes. It's a weird animal, this track. I loved it once but went off it by 91 (Technique always remains a favourite album). It's Balearic beat, it IS balearic acid house (though I convinced myself it wasn't after I forgot it was a real anthem in balearic acid house clubs) & a kind of height of 80s electro (made '89, some heard it in clubs late 89, released 90). Like others, I just thought it was kind of disco or Hi-Nrg electro disco after that. But it's different in different listens, vantages.
