Ok, can someone answer thisWhen that guitar riff kicks in at 1:26. Doesn't it sound very similar to Richard Marx - Right Here Waiting. Do you think he got the lyrical rythm or whatever from this riff? Cause this song came out before that right here waiting did.. Does anyone know?

I always think the vocal at the end, where the record scratches, is Kate and Cindy from the B-52's.

My Boyfriend played it for me when it came out in 1986 and received a proper slap for it. Still makes me laugh.

rony- i know what you mean...with me- 2 relationships, <- 2 failures-of which i'm mostly responsible...everytime Iv'e listened since those dark days, it sort of lightened my heart-if you will: "...I guess I shouldv'e known, I'd end up on my own..." <- the things i have no control over: the past (obviously) and that (realistically) will always carry some degree of regret...I guess you just have to learn to look back on tradgedy and laugh...laugh at life, at yourself. :)

best song ending EVER!

Correct. Stephen Morris wanted a tape getting chewed up for the casette version, and a needle skipping on vinyl and CD.

Yeah, when musicians do those pauses just right, they load the song with anticipation and tension.... and a sudden rush of emptiness--It spikes the song's climax here at least two-fold. The sound absent the notes is the music also: silence is sibling.

It's poetry Scrotty--It's sideways symmetry... parallels unmatched.
