I saw these guys live in the summer, and since then I've been completely put off their music. They turned the big screens off so people at the back of the festival couldn't see, and asked for people not to take photos. Now this would have been totally fine (if not a bit weird) if this wasn't meant to be their *comeback performance*. They hadn't released any music in over ten years. Not only that, but the performance was dead. The only lively member of the band was the slightly younger guy who played the saw, he was great. They didn't talk, they didn't communicate, only trundled through their unpolished set with a drummer who was playing a beat twice as fast as it should have been. Their whole performance seemed *rude* as if thy didn't want us to be there. And, by the end, we weren't. Over half of the huge field had left the *main stage* by the time they finally put down their instruments. Sorry to spam but UGH. Their music just seems tainted with that experience for me now.

I can't say I think he plays well, or that his voice is all that appealing, but I can say this.. I love the breaks in it, the off harmonies and the scratchiness, the soul that is put into this song and so many of their other songs.. I am drawn to their stuff and it makes me think.. and mostly makes me feel where their storybook journeys are leading me through, like some long forgotten path in the woods trodden down over-time with some recent overgrowth just permeating through the hard dirt .. fun and thought provoking ~like a journey through myself winding its way from my head to my heart and pleasantly surprized to find where I end up.

Hey guys and people of youtube.. just wanted to drop this comment i'm a young musician who has made a few songs here at home with my guitar and keyboard on my laptop.. the quality isnt great bc i dont have a great recording situation but neutral milk is on of my favorite bands and have a big influence on my sound. I don't have many listeners so every once in awhile ill leave a comment on some videos and the people that stop on my channel and listen to my songs and leave some feedback make me more than happy.
