This song though cheerful and upbeat, as a bit of a dark sad story. A few hours before the contest began, a Fireworks storage exploded in the Dutch city of Enschede, and many people died or got terribly injured or lost their houses. Linda and her team were totally unaware of this during their performance and were only informed of this after they did their performance. The Dutch TV cancelled the broadcast that year halfway as a result (they were not fined even though this action is forbidden, as the EBU had full understanding of the situation in the Netherlands). Linda's team made it very clear that out of respect they would not perform again if this song would have won. Maybe it was only fortunate that Linda underperformed so this didn't happen.

The act could stand out on a big stage. However, it was not fit for this compact and small stage, so it looked messy as if too much happened at the same time. They should have realised that and have adapted it to this small stage, which didn't happen.

Joan got in with the televote, but the so-called jury of music proffesionals put her 16th. If they kept 100% televote, 7 years of no final would be over!

That's cool! I like the 90s Polish entries too, especially amazing 4 in a row from 1994 to 1997. Thanks for your kind words. Joan unfortunately didn't make it but she wasn't that far away. Shame it didn't happen.

She should have toned it down a bit, too much everything here... Song is great though!

Funny, Poland is actually one of my favorite countries participating at the ESC. I especially like all (!) of the entries from the 90s: Edyta, Justyna, Kasia, Anna-Maria, Sixteen and Mietek. All of those songs deserved to be in the top 10 (apart from Edyta of course who finished on an amazing second place). Last year you also deserved to be in the final. Magdalena Tul's "Jestem" was the best Polish entry since 10 years! It's truly a shame she only got 18 points, I mean, where were the juries???

Netherlands is one of my favorite ESC countries although from 1969 to 2001. 3JS were good, I think, but Dutch version was much better than English. And this year Joan has wonderful entry that should reach not only Final but also Top 10. I wish Netherlands all of that, good luck from Poland.

These days the song sounds a bit outdated and kitsch, but back in the day this was one of the most modern contributions of that year. Even though I'm from The Netherlands myself, this was one of my favourites from 2000. Still don't understand why this didn't get a higher than a 13th place. The act with the huge dress was awesome. Something like that was never done at the ESC before. Back then we actually were creative. It's sad to see where we ended up nowadays. Our 3JS were awful this year.
