Born in the tiny island of Guernsey, Portuguese-British singer/songwriter Nessi Gomes channels influence from both sides of her ethnicity as she intimately blends the essence of traditional Portuguese folk music (Fado) with modern British inspiration. Fuelled by a belief in the transformative quality of music and expression, her song writing is infused with her personal journey and carried by hauntingly beautiful tones which transcend, nourish and disarm.

Nessi’s creative turning point took place 4 years ago upon settling in the forests of South and Central America. The psychedelic nature of the continent has reshaped her songs. Her heart cracking voice start reflecting an honest multi leveled portrait; Exposing her world where darkness & light dance together, challenges are been transcended and mysteries revealed.

The deep inner work in the forest curved the way for an album that Nessi is about to complete in the near months. Produced by Duncan Bridgeman (‘1 Giant Leap’ ) and accompanied by top musicians such as Viktoria Mullova, Mathew Barley, Cosmo Sheldrake, Dave Randel, Nigel Butler and Rainer Scheurenbrand

Now, back in London she is dedicating the time to complete the album called ‘Long Way Home’, to be released Oct 2015. An album that communicate, blend and bridge different influences, stretched from the vocal witches of the west such as Kate Bush and Bjork, all the ways to the forest creatures and plants of the Amazon.
