Magic was in the air, the crossroads, new riverside , catalyst, cabrillo college, and a place you never heard about.... the fireside nights at bucks 38th ave ranch house[now its a park] And yes when neil was doing time in town - he learned to surf. One of the best summers in my life.... Thanks bernard , and mazz . I brake out the tapes now and then, they still sound so damn good, old times were good times. Hey Now,quack quack-quack quack. I laugh when I see ducks crossing portola drive. Jonny S

Yeah, those were the days. . . some friends of mine were doing a gig at the Good Fruit Company in Sanity Cruise one night when Neil and the Ducks were on at the Catalyst. Wondered why our traffic was so bad until we heard. At the end of the set, I helped 'em pack up quick and hustled down to the Catalyst for their second set. Neil was as relaxed and happy as I'd ever seen him on stage. Seemed to be enjoying himself, and it came out in the music. Both of the Catalysts were great spots for shows.
