The slow version of Neil sedaka's top hit....does it sound better than the up tempo original?

A sad song with feelings not expressed in the faster version. Must listen.

Clip features a girl trying to avoid meeting her ex.....and falling in love again with a new boy....

According to Casey Kasum (American Top 40), only song, same song, same artist, two different versions, to hit the top 10: fast #1 2 wks 1962 and slow #8 1975

Yeah definitely sounds more true and emotion filled with the slowed down version. I love this version better.

This slow version sounds fantastic, feelings are much better expressed in this tempo. Tks a lot for posting it. Neil Sedaka is one of the greatest artists.

I didn't know he did a slowed version, I've heard Gloria Estefan do the slow version I love it, the passion, pain, depths of despair you can feel it more. I like the upbeat one too

Much better version, but this guy put class and a bit of genius in everything he did. Much like Elton John, not gay though.

Gotta say the slower version in my opinion is better. Haven't heard this in a while good stuff.

I enjoy the first version of this song. I think the slower version is much more meaningful. Comes with life experience.

How many up-tempo teen hits from the 1960s are really--when you slow 'em down--some of the saddest lyric poems of our generation? This one, surely. "The Look of Love" (Lesley Gore) definitely. Your turn ....
