David's Broadway Station

At the time of this taping, Nancy Sinatra was incredibly successful! It was only natural that FS , have his daughter on his show. Walter Donaldson and Gus Kahn wrote this cute little dittie. Yes, Donaldson and Kahn did write many songs together! Interesting to note that FS is one of the few performers who can take a not very profound song and just make it fun! The last song that we heard, "My Buddy", is more far reaching, but this song was composed watching a child play with her toys. The show is from 1966,the same year I was born, oh yes I am that old! For me, what's interesting about Nancy Sinatra is the fact that, musically, she took nothing from her famous Father. She was unique, and could have kept on singing if she had wanted to do that. She's written the best bios on her Father, and the family has always made sure that the re-releases of Sinatra's work be done with the utmost care! On HBO, currently there was a 2 part, I believe, documentary on FS which I haven't seen. Hopefully soon. I play this small little song to prove that in Frank's hands, all good songs are believable or funny or both!
