I had the idea for a globe-shaped instrument almost 40 years ago. This is not what I envisioned, but be on the lookout for more types of globe shaped synths. There will eventually be something very cool and useful and it will be something you cannot get the same effects from any other platform. Motion sensing instrumentation is the interface I see this having, partly. This is just a globe shaped synthesizer with live tone shaping.

The texture of the pads and how it can modulate the sound is pretty cool. I just don't understand why it needs to be a ball shape. You'd think it would be much easier if it was laid out flat and you could actually see all of the pads. Guess its just design over function.

"I'm REALLY shit at creating music. I just can't be fucked to sit down & learn my craft. But I am a Rock Star.. I just have to be. I know! I'll make a toy that I can play with to make it easier on me! Stand by everyone! Watch this space to see the very first man-hole instrument; where you get to create generic genre-reliant dross by fucking it in the pussy, playing Gears of War 3 on Recruit & Playing Football outside on a sunny day!!"

I see people knocking this, so I'd like to remind some of you that this is his preference to something he loves doing. Why are you all so rude? If it doesn't appeal to you, then you don't have to buy it. There's no need to bash it.

These crazy instruments would fit perfectly on a cyberpunk movie or a movie about the future. The protagonists go to a bar like in star wars and there you can see a band playing some crazy shit with these crazy instruments. Well who knows maybe these instrument will replace our actual keyboards and guitars in 200 years.

This is a piece of shit. I'd probably play around with it for 20 minutes then set it in a corner for 10+ years

OMG Adam's face from 0:25 to 0:52 is just classic. I mean his eyes darting back and forth, his mouth slightly agape, and the black under his eyes makes it look like he's spent the whole night just smoking rock and playing with the Alphasphere.

I wish I could tell this guy that his 'AlphaSphere' is just a bunch of pads in the shape of a ball. I know it's design for a specific genre of music but seriously, what can you play with this crap other than glitchy drum'n'bass ? It's just like pressing the play button on a computer. Obsolete.

You could have spoken in technical terms rather than say keyboard is not expressive enough. This doesn't convince. What kind of axis can you manipulate, touch/velocity sensitive /aftertouch / how many cc parameters can you assign per pad? Weak presentation...

Kid arranges drumpads in sphere shape and calls it an invention. Yawntastic.
