IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Sorry people! My inbox is flooded with requests for mp3s and isolated tracks. I would love to send the tracks but sadly all my gear was stolen. This includes my computer which had all the original tracks. Those thugs also stole my bass which I had played close to a hundred shows with. I was not ignoring you people. Once again, sorry.

DESCRIPTION:

I was not happy with the errors I've made in the original version so I've deleted and re-recorded it.

DISCLAIMER:

I don't think this track is copyrighted but just in case the youtube police comes around I'll say this piece was written by Christopher Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard of Muse. Probable copyrights with Helium 3 and Warner Music.

That was a long time ago. I used fruity loops to program the drums and used ezdrummer for the sound. Then I imported the drum audio into Sonar 7 which is what I was using at the time. I recorded the bass with a Boss GT-10 which is supposed to be a guitar multi fx unit.

well i cant imagine them breaking, my pedal board for these rare pedals is gonna be a freaking safe water/fire/earthquake/explosion/tornado-proof HAHA (i wish, but im seriously getting a safe)

Yeah the Green one does have a more defined tone but it's unreliable from my experience. That is probably why he switched to the black one. Easy to find a backup if one breaks, not that you would need to because it's a tank

thx! i will because green 1s r not that easy to find, the black 1s r more common. says they dont differ that much in sound but i wanna see which 1 i like more and i hear green 1 sounds somewhat better (in some ppls opinion) the fact chris swtiched from green to black so i was like "hmmm must be good then"

Ok Well the cat is out of the bag... What I actually used to record this track is believe it or not... a effing Boss GT-10. That is a guitar effect processor. I had is running in stereo setting with this signal path. Bass Guitar--octave--big muff--split into: A:Fender Bassman B:Marshall with bass tuned way up.--Mixed back togheter--Compressed--Eq'd-- Maximized. That's as detailed as I can remember.. This was pver 2 years ago.

Hi, I have tried both, and they differ this way: Black muff sounds cheaper, not that that is a disadvantage. It sounds rougher around the edges and just sizzling and nasty. The Green Muff however has a tigher low end and a more subtle and muffled top end... When I had my two amp setting, I was running the Black Muff on one amp, and the Green muff on the other amp. See my other vides...

I would. But all my gear got stolen including the computer. Sorry.

For sure! I don't claim to be anywhere close to Wolstenholme's tone. His fuzz is better mainly cause he is using 3 amps at the same time live :P. I got close enough with my 2 amp setup I think thought...

to get that tone would u recomend the black or the green version? i chris and clfif burton are my top favorite bassist and they both used big muffs, i know chris uses like 2 black russian muffs with his animato and cliff giving his time he probably used the 70s green russian muff, im asking if that 70s russian muff will suffice to get this tone 2? since they're like not all that different

Gee Bill

u have the same weird noises chris has from his tone! how dafak!!! i can get this fuzzy but his fuzz is BeTtEr :o
