This band has always been tremendously smart and heartfelt! As they've been playing for years and they've never had any dark moment the sound is more and more personal actually! Saying they're a great band doesn't represent enough because they're the founders and even the beginners of a marvelous style: alternative rock! This new genre is mainly guided by Muse, they thrust several other bands towards the discovey of this modern approach! Someway they reinvented rock history and they hit entire generations all over the world by shaking sounds up and combining electronic elements! That's only recently they put the electronic strem onto an album; in fact Morgan joined the band as a live member in 2006 and since then the feel and the charm became more energetic and vast. It was a painful moment for Chris when he broke his wrist but between this pain and the pressure felt for replacing such a great bassist they got into a choice that made Muse bigger and louder! They still show up with the number 3 for defining their formation but Morgan's help and position is sturdy, at times irreplaceable.What about the last album? It features the classical rock side, allegedly fostered by Matt's perspectives which were prone to the obvious sound, to the easy jump into the beginning of their career. They were sincerely planning to rebuild the initial spark and to make the scene gleam as much as in the late '90s. Someone feels not completely smug and proud of the latter work but a chunk of the first fans got it as a right album and an epic turning point around space-rock, progressive and much more, hence a deserving record!
