I saw Tom Petty's Mudcrutch and Lynyrd Skynyrd in Gainsville, Fla. when I attended the Univ. of Fla. briefly in the fall of 1971. Both were free concerts around Oct.-Nov. 1971. I’ve not had much luck in the past with I-net searches as far as locating any reviews, write-ups or pics. other than promo pics. of what the groups looked like in the late ‘60s’-early ‘70s. (As you can see by this video,Petty recorded a CD with his old band Mudcrutch several years ago.)

I was in Stockholm in a cd store when this was playing in the store. I was looking around for nothing in particular or maybe something different that I didn't already have...I heard Shady Grove and that was great, then the next track came on, then another one...three great songs in a row. So I went to the guy at the counter and said "what is this that we are listening to?" He said "Mudcrutch" and there was a display with a bunch of cds right there in front of me. I said "I'll take that!" lolol

I just bought this cd used last weekend...........its almost like Full Moon Fever in a way. Made me think a lot of that period in my life when I listened to Full Moon Fever when it first came out. I was in 8th grade, visiting my dad in Mass and us playing cards while listening to this in his house off Cape Cod. Thinking about that brought some closure while listening to this new cd while going on a long walk last Sunday.
