This piece, at first glance, is the antithesis of my other pieces, yet a part of who I am, in that I can tap into something of this genre, with it's dark, melancholy text. The song's lyrics echo a question etched deep into the human psyche about the specter of death and the ticking of our mortal "clocks." Disturbing and morose in some places, heart wrenching in others, this video is almost like watching a choreographed "train wreck." The music was a major inspiration for this piece, with its driving beat and strong vocal that seems juxtaposed against a somber and brooding text. As it turns out, it was really more about the creating the "art" behind the piece and creating a mood that fit the music, than my wanting to make a "statement" of any sort.

I have been a big fan of Alan Parson's music but this was a song that had escaped me because I didn't buy this particular album and the song apparently didn't get much if any air time on the radio. Ironically it was one of the most challenging pieces to complete that I've done to date. As is often the case, the "concept" evolved during the process, as I often have no idea initially where the piece will go or exactly how I will develop it. It incorporates 102 slides, which represent only a portion of the photos I comprised to choose from. As always, thanks for watching.

Muy buena obra. Solo no me agradó la bandera Norteamericana pero entiendo tu sentimiento patriota. La música y la poesía no es de ningún país y es de todos.
