definitely has a dated 80's commercial/power pop sound and the lyrics are..."lite", but the music and arrangement are outstanding.

I couldn't agree more. Whatever happened to guitar solos and melodic phrasing? All you hear now are power chords over and over again. Keyboards have all but disappeared. Modern music has become incredibly bland. It's too bad I was born in the 80's and missed this period.

@stu748r Couldn't agree more. And also on their unfortunately as-of-yet-unreleased 4th album, "Pull", where Trevor Rabin is the producer and also plays on four tracks. In fact, Farris and Rabin have quite similar guitar styles, compare for instance the solo in "Man of a Thousand Dances" with Trevor's inventive MXR-treated solo in "Owner of a Lonely Heart" and other songs on 90125 and Big Generator.

Steve Farris is the most underated guitarists that i know of,he has wonderful phrasing and feel.Forget the singles that have IMO tarnished Mr Mister to most musos and listen to the other tracks on"welcome to the real world" a truly world class player.
