I love this rendition of Thunderball. Bassey has a more seductive voice than Warwick. Her voice blends perfectly with John Barry's score.

Dionne Warwick's more restrained, less Las Vegas-y version is much better - IMO, not a fan of this version, Bassey's best Bond theme remains "Diamonds Are Forever" (with the subtle "Moonraker" a close 2nd)

The reason the song "Mr. Kiss Bang Bang" was not replaced as the main title song of Thunderball" had nothing to do with the quality of the song or of the recording with Dionne Warwick. The United Artists studio, who released the Bond movies, insisted, after the original titles were completed, that the title song feature the actual name of the movie. So John Barry and Don Black quickly wrote the song "Thunderball" and recorded it with Tom Jones and edited it into the film. Barry also rewrote some of the film's scoring to include the theme of the new song. Incidentally, Shirley Bassey was suing the producers over being replaced by Dionne Warwick so it was probably an extra benefit to them to replace the whole song altogether. "Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" remained in some if the film's underscoring and was featured as an instrumental track on the soundtrack album. Bassey's original recording and Warwick's revised version were never heard by the public until 1990 when they were released on CD.

Bang is pronounced correctly, sorry. Its the "fool" in the chorus that's a bit weird. But you're supposed to say "bang" the way she said it. That's well spoken english there.

She pronounces "bang" weirdly. I like the Warwick version better.
