Love the live version of John's. He talks about Pat Boone calling him up and asking him if he could change the lyrics a little to make it a little bit more 'G' rated...."let me pull on over to the side of the road to show you I'm not mean....wanna pat my bunny?" LOL

Hate to tell you this, Bill Hood also died last year. Do a search on YouTube for Maya - Walking_In_Memphis featuring Bill Hood Not sure about the female singer; they had several over the years. There are other videos of Maya on YouTube as well.

Sure I remember Maya, Speedy West Junior was their lead guitarist. He sadly passed away last year. Rings was another great band from that era. I know musicians who were in both.

Your kind of coming across as a jerk. There is no one "best" singer, musician, or genre of music, just different syles and different preferences. I suggest you try to expand your tastes a little and not loop bluegrass in with genres that aren't even related to it (like polka). By the way, what's wrong with Polka dancing, anyway? I've never done it, but it looks fun.

Is there a Red, White and Bluegrass version on YouTube? That was the first version I ever heard.

Actually John Stewart wrote the song. Jim and Vince do a great bluegrass version though.

Yes they are quite similar... I'd never heard that version. I wonder which one was recorded first? This version was released in 1975.
