So many great memories 1974 what a great year, 13 years old and not a care in the world. Played this album continuously and like others this song also reminds me of a girl I loved and yes even though I'm 30 years married I still think of her when I hear this song........sad old git I suppose.......

They call me Mike the Hoople because this album was all I played when I was stoned, and I was always high. Awesome rock ballads. Thanks for posting!!

I _____LOVE this Song!!! First time I heard it was @ downtown St. Louis @ some chicken hawk's apt circa 1975= I did as any straight kid would back then- told 'em I loved the MUSIC, but HATED the unwelcome advances- the advances never progressed and my love for the music endures to this Day!!! LOVE$ IAN HUNTER_Most underrrated Singer EVER!!!!!!

I love this song, and wore this album out listening to it more than any other album that I have ever owned, besides "All The Young Dudes".

This song is special. Rest in Peace is another gem-like Mott b-side from the same era.

@braincaper I remember Queen opening for Mott the hoople at Birminghan town hall in about 1974, it was clear Queen were goiing to be very successful though, they were brilliant.

Thanks so much for posting this.. I had it as the B side and played it to death.. loved it.. the vocal has suffered over the years but the response to it is anchored firmly in my guts and its strong as ever.. loved Trudi's Song too.. probably even more come to think of it.. all fab stuff.. Hunter is 70 now but still very much a must-see gig..

Thank you so much for posting this! I use to have this album in the late seventies and I loved it, especialy this song. I don't know why, but Mott The Hoople just grew on me. Now I'm almost 50, and I still consider it a treat to hear anything by Mott. But with all this love I have for this band, I have to admit that Ian Hunter, for all his glitter rock showmanship, has to be one of the worst singers I've ever heard. Maybe it's mostly the cockny accent thats lost on my american ears. But I love m
