The only reason Corabi was let go, was because the talentless Neil was suiting the band to change their name and copy write infringements. Corabi's range is far supperior and allowed the band to really let go and play what ever the fuck they pleased. Self titled cd was by far, and I mean leaps and bounds their best work. Can only imagine what might have been. Neil has always been the Achilles heel of this band. The boy simply can't sing! Neil limited range ( none) limits what the band can play.

I was kind of glad Vince split for a bit. That is, Motley made a decent album with Corabi and Vince made two great albums of his own, especially the second one 'Carved in Stone'. Win win for the fans really

On one side, we've got Motley Crue with Vince Neil. Commercial. Successful. Distinct. Awesome. This 'star-power' that we keep talking about runs rampant in the four-piece Crue we've grown to know and love. Then we have the Corabi years and the subsequent album. By far, it is the best Motley Crue album musically, sonically, and professionally. Dr. Feelgood was a fantastic album, but the Self-titled simply takes the cake, in every musical aspect. Jon Corabi was and still is a fantastic musician. The problem? They were much too bold in that they decided to make the album self-titled. This is not the Motley Crue that brings woman and men alike to their knees. This is an album and band that showcases the musical talents of Tommy Lee, Mick Mars, Jon Corabi, and Nikki Sixx. Unfortunately, its brilliance and apparent timelessness have never been recognized by the media.

that´s the fact, Matt! I never was a Motley fan but i bought this album when it was released. Afterwards i bought Girls girls girls and Theatre of pain on second hand store (vinyls) and they are one of the worst waste of money...

I respect that to most people Vince is the only lead singer the Crue should have ever had but I never liked Crue BECAUSE of Vince's voice. I loved this album and it still holds up now.

What I like and admire about the John Corabi Crue music is that he never tried to sound like or imitate Neil. He is very original and the band seemed to like it. Not sure about most fans though. The problem is Crue were already well established and the only way for them to move forward during this period was to create a radio hit, which never happened. In the '80s and even the early '90s it could have worked but the hair band scene was on the way out by this time.

Big BIG Crue-head here and I loved this album. Saw the tour three times. Very under rated. Luv the originals though. Well put... "star power".

Cant agree with you more, thoe I do understand how vince is the sound of Motley Crue Corabi is an interesting guy. I agree he has a better voice then Vince and the songs on this album are better there usual Crue I do like Vince. Its weird when Nikki was writhing songs for the first Brides album which is the only good one it was Corabi that cowrote allot of them. hmm its weird like he dose not want to be famous. He is cooler then famous people I think.

To all the Vince-bashers on here: You have to admit that Vince has a very distinctive style that is all his own, therefore Motley just kinda'..."came in two different flavors". Leaded...and Unleaded.

I think that'd be great!!

Firing Vince Neil was the best decision Crue ever made. Hiring him back was the worst. Sadly, this album was their best.

Maybe he should become the lead singer of velvet revolver, so he can get back into the spotlight! He's one of the most vocally impressive rock vocalist I've heard

Vince is jealous, WE ALL KNOW IT. This album is the best in their catalog and seeing as how it came out so far ago and it's still current sounding? IMPRESSIVE.
