Andrew I got see Tommy at a Drum clinic some years back and I have to say the man had some ass kicking Snare drum chops to say the least and what even ceases to amaze me is players ( or those who claim to be) who says that Tommy has no groove or pocket presence. Really ? Well when I hear Dr. Feel Good the 1st thing jumps out is the groove and definitely his pocket

I think a couple of people here have miss the point ( but one is entitle to their opinion) forget that it was a great drum solo or lack of, ( it was fine to me ) it's the fact that the Metal Bands in the 80's gave a great show and here is proof of that, I grew up around this era and when I look back now I appreciated even more, because the bands that are out there currently wouldn't even think to a tenth of the theatrics that these guys did,don't get me wrong I like what hear from some of these kids ( not all ) musically, but the majority of them have not an ounce of stage presence whatsoever. It ain't all about the so called "Know it all musical theory guru ". I've played with enough those people.
