I love the simple and mournful way she sings. Mother Maybelle is truly amazing.

No doubt Maybelle Carter is the most influential female musician of all time...even the most influential musician.

Mother Maybelle , in this case is capo'd to Eb.  Just use your thumb to pick the bass and your other fingers for the melody -in C natural it's easy.  God Bless Mother Maybelle.

When I was a kid, one of my cousins, who I just about worshiped played the guitar and I thought he was great with these fancy riffs and such, I thought as a 10 year old "I can never play like that." I saw Mother Maybelle play on the old Johnny Cash show "Wildwood Flower" and after learning some basics it was the first song I ever learned to play on the guitar. I played some gigs, gave lessons and had a go time learning to buy broken guitars and fix them.  All because of her, I have had a 45 year or more love after with the instrument.  I just regret I could never tell her "Thank you for changing my life."
