I don't really know how it goes, but this is how you play it.

As I've written before - every time I seek out a cover to a great song, I find privettricker has done a great cover of it. I'm like a record with a skip and keep writing the same comment on all of this guy's covers! This guy's covers are fantastic! :)

Pretty good effort, btw, but I couldn't help noticing you had a bit of trouble with the little breakdown riff at 2.20. If you've got it by now, or ain't too bothered then fair enough, but it's actually a lot easier than it sounds. I'll post a vid of it if you want.

It was Ian. He played virtually all of the acoustic parts (probably still does).

Was it Ian Anderson who played this on the album ? I always assumed it was Martin Barre, but I'm probably mistaken.

You totally nailed it. I'vee been a big fan of JT since 1969... I was only 13 then but hum Ian's music hit me hard at the time... Absolutely great playing and thanks for sharing.

As a guitar player of plus thirty years and wishing I could play as well as a flautist is kind of bringing it all home for me..LOL. (Said from the wonderful perch on a 1971 gibson dove.)

Nice version. I've worked out a fingerpicked try. Please check out mine and tell me what you think. Search for Paul Pekkanen and you will find it. Keep up the good work.

Aqualung next??? One of the all time great albums front to back. I've learned a lot from your posts...check out my Kodachrome cover which I learned from your post except I put my weak voice with it. Mother Goose, excellent of course. I have to say I'm envious of your skill. I keep playing and enjoying? Thanks DK

@michael573114 The distinctive sound he extracted came from the strum/picking technique..the mumbled breathy flute added to his uniqueness...and the voice of course..coarse grit to the finest emery...exceptional performer
