Morbid is mostly popular for their legendary vocalist, Dead A.K.A Per Yngve Ohlin. After 1986, he split with the group and joined the legendary black metal band Mayhem in 1988, before they made their black metal scene. Dead inspired in the black metal corpse paint scene. He was also known for performing Freezing Moon, and a few other songs (that made it to De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas.) Dead appeared in Live in Liepzig, Out From the Dark, and Dawn of Black Hearts. On 1991, Dead then commited suicide which caused Mayhem's bassist Necrobutcher to leave. De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas was recorded with Varg Vikernes's bass lines and Atilla's vocals. The album was released a year later after Varg's murdered Euronomous.
