Forgetting the death metal / black metal aspect, are you? I will give you the tone of the guitar on an off day - Tiamat, Charon, Sentence, and Poisonblack are all bands I KNOW that use it as well, so it's more something typical to the genres - I've heard doom metal use the same tones, so it's not just goth metal. HIM didn't start it, and sadly until they run out of 12 year old girls, they won't stop using it. They'll just crank out more music that wants to be goth metal when it grows up.13 years ago

You guys obviously don't listen to HIM or are just ignorant and criticize them because you like Moonspell, I understand. But it's a fact that HIM and Moonspell have their similarities. How can it be a fact you ask? They use a lot of the same notes, same chords, and palm muted rhythms. Not to mention they have very similar transitions.13 years ago
