Just love Ray's simple but beautiful flute theme on this. So uplifting. I remember hearing this as the first song on their Live plus Five album the very day I was on my way to a post grad college course in Buffalo, 1977.

Very bizarre incident... I was on my way (as in "gimme little something to help me on my way"out for dinner and I was thinking about making a playlist of that track and other obscure and early takes of their music from their core seven albums, and their music is playing in my mind. I found their music to be somewhat therapeutic in my longing to get my declining health and financial hardship to get better in the new year. Meanwhile I had Howard Stern's best of 2013 on Sirius and they replayed his interview with Rod Stewart. And while I am hearing Gimme little something in my head, out of nowhere, Howard asks Rod why aren't the Moody Blues in the RR HF?I agree with your opinion, who gives a damn about them ?It should have been built in Philly anyway.Whatever, the Moody Blues are in MY RRHF!

One of the Moodies best and indeed underrated songs, IMHO. Too bad this was never performed live. John Lodge's falsetto voice..at its best, the harmonizing is awesome. I never paid attention to reviews of their music in its heyday....ie "pretentious"...maybe thats why they haven't been elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...they're in it as far as I'm concerned. What a thrill to have them make some of the most amazing music in my lifetime.

From the "ISOTLC" sessions. Written by John, sung by Justin on the verses. Thanks for the upload!

Ray Thomas just didn't want to tour anymore. They are all getting too old for the riggers of touring even though Justin, John and Graham are still going strong. I am glad they are still touring.

They got together for Moody Bluegrass 2 album a couple of years ago. Was there really bad blood that festered for so long? I know Pinder was very arrogant and rubbed people wrong , especially Graham Edge, but he was the originator of the group. Mike Pinder and Ray Thomas are still close.

Their music seemed to wilt after their '72-'78 hiatus. This makes me wonder if Pinder was the driving force behind the spacey Core 7 albums.

Graeme and Mike did not seem to get along, despite being co-founders of the band.

just wish the group would let mike pinder back in (at least for a one time reunion) and let bygones be bygones. i know that mike would do it ... for sure ..... but not if the rest of the group doesn't welcome him with open arms. people need to pressure the present members to let this become a reality, before they disband through more health reasons, or even death!

@cloudjia Thanks for visiting my Moodies vids! I noticed you removed your comment about looking for the album...did you find it? "Prelude" is now out of print, but you can get "Caught Live + 5" just about anywhere. I have it on vinyl and cd, it's that good!!
