For those of you that do know this I apologize for making you read this sentence or two. For those who don't know this, Chris Barretto (Current Monuments Vocalist) WAS in Periphery before Spencer Stotelo became the vocalist. That's why some of their songs sound a little Periphery-like.

こんばんはー♪(〃∇〃)今日は、会社の研修に行ってきました～♪研修場所に行くのに、車で片道１時間半から２時間…。「どんなところで研修すんねん！！」「これまたドＳや…。」(T▽T)そう思ったけど、その間、チョー暇なので、買って、なかなか聞き込めなかったＣＤを聞いてましたー♪今回ご紹介するのは、以前お薦めGuitaristで紹介したJohn Browneの在籍するバンドMONUMENTSの最新アルバム「The Amanuensis」です。動画は、アルバムの中から「Atlas」と言う曲です。ちょっと刺激的です！！アルバム通して聞いた感想は、まさに、「Chaos！！」の一言。感覚的には、激熱なBullet（弾丸）で、頭をぶち抜かれた感じ。かなり、グイグイきます！！DrumのRhythmは、かなり難しく、Bassもそれにシンクロして、かなり動くと言うか、うねる感じ。かなり歪ませたGuitarは、低音弦を刻んでいたかと思えば、高音弦を効果音的に使ったり、タッピングを随所に入れて、変化をつけてみたり。Vocalは、グロウルかと思えば、クリーンでハモって浮遊感を出したり、曲の中でも変化に富んでいて、そこがポイントだと思う。最近、グロウルを取り入れるバンドが増えているけど、終始グロウルは単調になりがち。例えば、クリーンで対比を出したり、ウイスパーを入れてみたり、はたまた、曲自体のRhythmに変化をつけてみたり、激しい部分があれば、静かな部分を作る、例えば、静かにピアノが鳴っていたり、ストリングスを一部に取り入れてみたり、そうすることで、単調さを回避できると思う。MONUMENTSの楽曲は、「嫌なこと、何もかも忘れたい！！」って時に、ヘッドホンで聞くのに、お薦めかも…。刺激は、少しキツメだけどね～。(笑)(〃∇〃)
