I can relate to this, not the divorce part, but my son's father had walked away before we knew that I was pregnant. I kept my son, and have full custody of him. My son's father has rarely called to see how our son is doing. He's now 3 years old, and his father hasn't called on his birthdays to say happy birthday to him. It's sad, but as Eddie Montgomery said, in the end, it is the kids who suffer. I love this song. I never asked for anything from my ex, just for him to not pretend to care about our son.
