Ah, have to love the pedantic bickering about stuff like Nietzshe. Pretentiousness at it's finest.

LYRICS to follow with the songOh, for the sake of momentumI've allowed my fears to get larger than lifeAnd it's brought me to my current agendumWhereupon I deny fulfillment has yet to arriveAnd I know life is getting shorterI can't bring myself to set the sceneEven when it's approaching tortureI've got my routineOh, for the sake of momentumEven though I agree with that stuff about seizing the dayBut I hate to think of effort expendedAll those minutes and days and hoursI have frittered away. And I know life is getting shorterI can't bring myself to set the sceneEven when it's approaching tortureI've got my routineBut I can't confront the doubts I haveI can't admit that maybe the past was badAnd so, for the sake of momentumI'm condemning the future to deathSo it can match the past. When I can't confront the doubts I haveI can't admit that maybe the past was badAnd so, for the sake of momentumI'm condemning the future to deathSo it can match the past.

Listening to that song males want to watch that movie. I REALLY want to watch it, but I need 3 hours of silence.

As soon as the music starts, I hear, "Now what I'm going to do is, I'm going to read a line to you from an opera. I want you to give me that line back in the language in which the opera was originally written. And for a bonus two-fifty...you can SING IT!" But I'm not singing Carmen.

But feelings aren't switches that you can flip on and off. True, you may be ambivalent towards someone/something, but you are only ambivalent because you both love and hate them/it. Ambivalence would describe feelings that you already have, while love and hate are themselves feelings. The feelings coexist, they do not alternate.

No, I've read Nietzsche's Nietzsche. And I doubt there's any aphorism (and that's what you're likely referring to, some aphorism you mistakenly took literally) that contradicts my point.

You're an idiot. If you have both feelings, you are ambivalent. There is a well-known word in English to describe the situation. If you love someone, you love the person. If you hate someone, you hate the person. If you have a mixture of the two, or the two alternate, you are ambivalent about the person. This is not rocket science, Hans, and I'll thank you not to barge into my conversation with your namby pamby new age nonsense ever again.

Uh, no. In that case, you love and hate various particular things about the cupcake. Your feeling for the cupcake is - ambivalence. If you can say you both love and hate something, you neither love nor hate it. You are ambivalent about it.

You can love something or someone for one reason and hate something or someone for an entirely different reason. You might like a cupcake but hate the sugar content in which it has. Perfectly logical.

You can't both love and hate something. I know it's popular to believe you can, but you can't - they're at opposite ends of a spectrum. People who say they "love and hate" something, probably just hate it.

one of my all time favorite films...I think it's Cruise's finest moment...and he worked for scale. Anderson is brilliant.
