Mole in the Ground - Tim O'Brien, Dirk Powell, John Herrmann - Songs From The Mountain Video Free Download

True old-timey banjo picking in "Mole In The Ground" from the album, "Songs From the Mountain" released in 1998. Dirk Powell, Tim O'Brien, and John Herrmann wanted to stay true to the Appalachian roots of the mountains and did an incredible job of this on their album.

These three musicians were so taken with the book, 'Cold Mountain' by Charles Frazier, that they wanted to make a companion cd. This is prior to both the movie and the movie soundtrack for 'Cold Mountain'. The album is filled with authentic music you could hear throughout the mountains during the Civil War period and before. You can hear it now if you are extremely lucky. Enjoy the past and now the future! "Songs From the Mountain" is an enduring testament to the music of the Appalachians. ENJOY!!!

southern mountain surrealism.... a great song- bascom lamar lunsford recorded 320 songs for the library of congress-amazing. angered at the depiction of mountaineers as comic "hillbillys" he deplored what hee haw style media and the other vulgarisations did to the mountaineer....
