Say what you will about Musical Montages, I maintain that this sort of cinematic mash-up isn't outdated and Mann certainly knew how to make it work. Even in Equalizer when they placed "Vengeance" by Zack Hemsey into the final fight sequence, perfect... It was practically a homage to Mann, therefore forgivable in all sense of the term for placing "A New Dawn Fades" into the credits for "Equalizer". I have no problem with that. It fit the tone and made me want to watch "Heat" again. Loved both movies!
