I love Moby Grape, but that's not when music ended. Don't feel sorry for the kids. Feel sorry for the ones whose musical taste stopped in the 60s, or in the 50s, or 40s, or 30s. A snob is a snob.

The Grape was a band my band loved. Met all the guys in Golden Gate Park. Good times.

Saw Hendrix, Albert King, John Mayall, and Janis with Big Brother filled in for one set because they own Bill for a night they missed. Killer times! It was a $10 ticket. Saw the Beatles at Candlestick two years earlier for $6.50. Late 60's was a good time to live in the SF Bay area......and be a musician.

Saw Styx and Yes for $10/ticket a couple of days ago. Lawn seats for $5. Money well spent! The depression is good for something, I guess. Juan... I doubt the Eagles and Doobies were lucky to make it big. They did that on their own, regardless of who they copied. They were still unique enough that people liked them for them.

I'll always keep that The Doobie Brothers copied some aspects of Moby Grape and that The Eagles capitalized the musical movement of Quicksilver Messenger Service. I don't pretend to hurt Eagles and Dobbie Brothers, but They were lucky while Moby and Quicksilver were not lucky. That's all.

i bought the vintage 2 disc cd of recordings. it was one of the best musical gambles i ever made. no one told me about these guys. thanks for posting anything by them!

damn born at the wrong time. wish i could have seen all the san francisco bands when they were in their prime. saw the dead and they were good, say country joe and he was good but quicksilver has just gotten old and bad at playing :( but watever sucks being 18 today
