"In the late 1980s , thousands of kids from all over the country descended daily to the sunset strip in Hollywood California for just a glimpse and maybe a taste of what they had watched on MTV. This city, and there lives will be forever changed. This song and video is dedicated to them." Marissa Tellez who stars in the video http://www.marisatellez.com was a Strip kid as well and author of Rock and Roll High School. (Video by Gorilla Punk)

Whatever Happened To Fun?

I adore so much those daze that I called my club Sunset Strip.I was lookin' for an hymn to celebrate those crazy and wild yearz. This sad alternative downtempo doesn't fit my idea of hymn and I'll go back to Sunset And Babylon by WASP.The lyrics are great but I didn't heard the thunder, only a whisper.

This song was waiting to be written, and MK4 pulled the card. Wistful, reflective, and catchy as hell! Great video, great song name! I never made it to L.A. during the prime time metal Sunset Strip era, and I am sorry I missed it. Every old time rocker knows someone who fits the image of at least one character in this song. Heavy Metal Thunder is definitely gold, and it took someone who was there to write it. I love the earlier comment about the 'Grunge Scene Lumberjack' who came in and chopped down the scene. So true.

Those were the "DAYZ" indeed! I should know, I WAS THERE!! We played ALL THE CLUBS!!-Whiskey a Go Go, Roxy, Rainbow, Troubadour... My band WANTED-1988-1993 was 1 of the last bands on sunset strip to perform at GAZZARRIS (Our favorite Club) !!!! before the "grunge scene lumberjack" came in and chopped us all down!! GREAT SONG!! Good luck MK4*****

This song takes me back to the very first time I walked the strip in 88,, Every face looked faintly familiar but you never really got a chance to remember where you knew them from because the next short skirt took your head the other direction until the guy walking his leather bikini clad girl on a leash and dog-collar handed me a flier and wait..hey,.. Whoa! I'm pretty sure that I have just been talking to Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols for the last 15 minutes while that dumb teenage groupie tried to pierce her nose with a safety pin. My friends, you have no idea what you missed. Thank you MK4,

I had the extreme good fortune of catching this band when they visited San Antonio a while back and was blown away by their sound and the the guys in the band. I have been closely following them ever since hoping they make it back to Texas. I definitely hear the Springsteen and The Hold Steady influences in this song especially. Do yourself a favor and catch these guys live and listen to the music and their words!

A grand sojourn back to the glory days of Lip Service jeans, airbrushed band names onto leather jackets, the almighty Rainbow and the girls who kept long haired boys warm...and fed. Well done, Britt

A great ode to the kids that grew up on the Sunset Strip. No auto tune, no backing tracks, just good old fashioned singing and storytelling ala Springsteen. I love this song.

This video takes you away to where you once were and every now and than want to go back to. It's refreshing and reminds you that you are not the only one left who misses being lost in the world of insanity!
