Charted at #51 on Billboard Hot 100 in November 1955. Original Billboard review: "The tune is based on another Confederate song, "The Bonnie Blue Flag," and replete with Miller's marching beat, it should be a money-making follow-up to "Yellow Rose of Texas". My note: I have read that the music for this song was even earlier used for a folk song called "The Irish Jaunting Car". "Bonnie Blue Flag" was also known as "Bonny Blue Flag" and "We Are a Band of Brothers".
"Yellow Rose of Texas" had been a #1 hit for Mitch earlier in 1955.
B-side is "Bel Sante".
