Eugene Levy: "At the end of this movie, when we do the concert, it was all filmed basically live.

We're not pre-recording the music and lip-synching to it. We're actually filming it live. It put a little added pressure on what you thought was a relatively good singing voice. It took a little work and I think I can speak for Catherine, too, as two of the relatively non-musician people. It was exciting and scary."

such a sweet beautiful song...and what a great acting job by Eugene Levy...how he became transformed from sad and dejected to a really sexy guy!

It's not surprising that Eugene Levy can sing... after all, he was one of the original 5 NEAT GUYS!

I love it when people who are well known for being funny or serious blow you away with some hidden talent they have.

I'd actually read somewhere that Eugene Levy has played guitar for years so it wasn't a stretch for him as much as you would think but Catherine learned how to play her instrument for this film and the vocals are really them. Well, back in the day actors were required to sing and play if they wanted to work so they carry on the tradition quite well I think.

This movie has it all. Subtle, understated genius. The perfect example of how not to underestimate the intelligence of a viewer.

IIRC, Michael McKean and his wife Annette O'Toole wrote this song, and all the Mitch and Mickey songs, in their car while in flight from NYC in the wake of 11 September 2001. I think the horror of that day added a dimension to their work that it might not have had otherwise. Nothing like looking at destruction in the face to make you remember that love is what really counts.

Mitch and Micky are supposed to be the 60's Folk duel Ian and Sylvia.

Beneath the surface of subtle humor lies a vast depth of emotion and meaning that is truly sublime. Add to that the beautiful melodies and harmonyies and you have something really special.
