My dad has been a Slim fan for my whole life. He fostered an appreciation in me for the mans songs and songwriting. Its a shame people write off country music as if its not meaningful or cant be deep or ring true. Covers like this make you re-appreciate the song all over again and hopefully, will make some people appreciate the songwriter all the more.
