My final point, of all the punk rock flyers, and maybe of all the rock and roll flyers, Double Nickels on the Dime was the best.

Mike Watt said that there is the show and the flyer, and the album is the flyer. That is a good point. In the 40's and 50's, there were great movie posters, and usually the film didn't live up to the poster. Film noir tried to live up to the poster. For Minutemen, the gig lived up to the flyer.

I saw Minutemen live. Didn't appreciate the show, but did appreciate Double Nickels on the Dime, at the time, and until this day. The reason punk rock came into existence was to provide a venue for Minutemen to record Double Nickels on the Dime.

This song is about POLITICAL CORRUPTION. TOADIES in the government. I always thought Alberto Gonzales fit this song real good.
