Nice video! I'm in the process of transcribing the D'jango solos myself, and working with only two fingers to get a better idea of where he would have placed his phrases on the instrument. Have you been able to get the chromatic run up to tempo? I'm aiming for the original 200bpm but am stuck around 165-170bpm. What tempo did you set yours at? Thanks!

Yeah its great that you're able to work through a book and learn it like it is...if I wanted to hear it like it is, I'd just listen to the real thing. You should have showed us what you can improvise after learning from analyzing his stuff.

Inspirational !! A beautifully crafted rendition. Many thanks to you and the work done by Ben Givan in transposing these classic tunes. After all these years of practice, I'm just about able to keep up with you. Thank you so much for posting, Julien :-)

This is nice but not like Django played it. For more important to cover Djangos style is not the obvious 2 fingers. Its the right picking hand. Your way sounds fine but its not the way its meant to be done. You should use downward pickslant, (a slightly bent whrist) always start with a downstroke when changing a string. You are missing the typical vibrato, the chords are not correct --> should be Am6 and Dm6 (or Bm7b5), the Rhythmplaying itself needs some work on it. But in overal you did a fairly good job.

For musical benefits, you have two strong fingers (Good dynamics) and simple possibilities, (more rhythmical), and actually it's three fingers with the thumb to add the bass. Try it for fun with Django and a killer Pick and then you will use it at your arsenal!

what kind of bass is this?

Nice homage. It's hard enough to capture the feel with all five fingers:)

Man, the difference between you and Django is that Django, because of an accident, has created a way to play with only two fingers! You have all of your fingers, so why do you play that way?!? You surely are a good musician, but you have to respect a Master like Django!

This cover is the closest to the original song in Youtube. Good job!

I clicked on this video to watch you play the chromatic run near the end just to get some inspiration, and you totally "biffed" it! I know it must be more difficult with only two fingers, but you really stumbled through it. Nice job on the rest though

Do you use 2 fingers to play like Django or because you think it's more convenient ?

Very nice video, great playing! Could you maybe tell me the essential difference between the 0-Hole and the D-Hole "Django"-Style guitars? Is the one with D-Hole just louder? Does one have more frets than the other one? Why is it, that normaly the solo guitar is a Ovale-Holed and the rithm guitars are D-Holes?

I love the homage you pay to Reinhardt by playing the solo guitar with two fingers only. Very cool
