Even Milli Vanilli fans don't seem to realize how unique this performance is. This is the rare version 2 that had new lyrics in the 2nd verse. It may have been recorded specifically for this night, due to the growing rumors, and the millions watching. There's a "live" echo effect, yes...but the vocals are noticably raw compared to the released V2. Frank Farian WAS a bastard for what he did to Rob and Fab, but wow was he ever a master producer. Ironically, some friends and I did this song for our grade 5 lip synch contest, before the scandal hit, and we sadly still know every lyric here. The girls were obsessed with this track back then, as well as the other 4 singles released. Although the Hansa label released this in Germany in '88, we didn't get it here in N.A. until mid '89 if I recall correctly. I believe they were the first to truly expose that German pop sound to the world, which is now known as "euro freestyle" of course. In this respect, Frank was many years ahead of his time with this record. R.I.P Rob Pilatus - you're still missed, and many blame Frank for losing you so young.

Hate on the two impostors , but love the songs. Don't hate the songs just because you found out the two guys Rob & Fab didn't sing the songs. You loved the songs before you found out they lip synced them. So , still love the songs , but hate the impostors who fooled us. Leave the great music out of it.

I thought this was the video where they screwed up with the CD or record being stuck where it was stuck on saying "Girl You Know It's , Girl You Know It's , Girl You Know It's , Girl You Know It's , Girl You Know It's" .... etc. etc. I guess they made it through this lip sync of a concert without a flaw.
