Mike Ward gave his first live performance on The Voice this evening, performing 'When I Was Your Man' by Bruno Mars for the coaches and voting public at home.

It was all to play for tonight, as the country singer was desperate to win one of two places in next week's semi final with Team Tom, however he had stiff competition from Joseph Apostol and Alys Williams and knew he has to give his all.

Before the live show Mike tweeted:

"Massive day tomorrow im so excited! Who is excited for the lives shows? @BBCTheVoiceUK #stayfocused #teamtom #teamcountry"

He added:

"Thankyou all for you amazing support I appreciate it from every last one of you! Massive night tonight please vote″

OK Now, I can't recall ever hearing the original of this song so I have nothing to compare Mike's version with, BUT, he SEEMS, to have done a pretty, darn, good job on this one. Plus, as I said in another comment, on another vid of his; young people performing these Grand Old Songs, helps to keep them Alive, and Popular for a Whole New Generation, ensuring they stay Alive and Popular WELL, into the future. And surely, this has to be a Good Thing.I only, wish to goodness that, there was someone, out there, willing to Resurrect Good, Old, 70s, Style, Disco/Dance Music, as I'm a Huge, Huge, Fan of this, and there seems to be no one, out there, willing to do this.So Country continues to be Blessed that way.Tons of Love. Out.
