Nicky Chinn & Mike Chapman were a songwriting and producing partnership and each brought skills, contacts, direction and motivation to the partnership. Chinn lived in the US for a while in the mid to late 70s but eventually returned to life in London. Chinn commutes to Nashville where for the past 8 to 9 years he has been working in songwriting teams co-writing new songs for various artists. Chapman lives in the US and Australia and is still producing mostly guitar based rock music. Regardless of each others roles, it was as a collective that delivered the results, partially the 1970 - 1975 and up to 1979 period. For a while in history Chinnichap were kings of the pop business.

As far as I know, Nicky Chinn is now living in America as well. He co-wrote a song for Selena Gomez a couple of years ago.

The percussion was created with a nail and milk bottle! A band called Edentree was the first band to record Chop Chop. Unfortunately they ended not signing with Chinn and Chapman and the track had the band's lead vocal removed and replaced by Tony Blackburn as a single. Sweet recorded the song later.

@tubegucker1 Just curious, but how do you know this? And why would Chapman share the credits with Chinn if he wrote the songs alone?

@tubegucker1 Pretty good job you've done there, it sounds almost like the official record

@dariowestern If you want more of these tapes you have to go the The Sweet homepage and inform yourself about it. You have to know that original version is just with acoustic guitar and Chapman's vocals. The rest was just a quick homerecording for fun =)

@olympiakos47 Chapman wrote all of these songs. Chinn sometimes wrote the lyrics but actually he was the producer.
