His voice on this version is very reminiscent of Danzig in my opinion. Very operatic and theatrical like Danzig was famous for especially on songs like "Mother". Love Danzig and Graves eras of Mistfits.

Really cool but I feel it's too slow. But hey, that's just me, I'm used to the fast punk rock action.

the AP version was perfect. the song is graves' vision, but sometimes having an editor helps. i remember hearing the original on college radio circa '98, i didn't even know it was the misfits (i was a huge fan of the original danzig-led band) but i immediately thought it was fuckin awesome. i'm not sure if i ever would have noticed this version as being a good song, atho it's hard to say, since i'm biased in favor of the other. also, sorry to say b/c i am a michale fan, but i think he's actually oversinging on the verses at times here, with the drawn-out phrasing, wheras watch the video for the original again... as i said too PERFECT. the vocals were spot on. then there is doyle's thrashing guitar, which isn't as enjoyable on the less melodic material he does on GF and his solo band, but neither is this material as enjoyable without the menace he brought to it; they were meant for each other! it was finished off by the nice touch of the howl in the beginning, and the theatrics of the crimson ghost and bride of frankenstein imagery.it was a great "marriage", the talented young singer/songwriter MG and the resurrected 'Fits. Jerry, Doyle, and their friend Chud had the sound and image of the old band intact (if updated and "smoothed out"), but suffered a talent deficit without danzig. that void was filled with michale... neither the misfits or michale were well served by the "divorce". i like MG's solo stuff and even what Jerry does, but none of it on either side is as good as AP and FM.

i'm guessing jerry only told graves how he wanted it sung on the misfits albums. live with the misfits graves vocals were all over the place, in my opinion.

Thot The Ghetto Atlantean

this version showcases his vocal ability better...but it looses a lot of heaviness when he's not yelling some parts
