They brought in Randy when the group left Motown (except for Jermaine; He chose to stay and pursue a solo career) and signed with Epic(?) in order to have more creative control under the name The Jacksons. The "new" group produced some of the greatest songs and tours I've ever seen. Jermaine returned for "Victory" in 1984 because his Motown solo attempt failed. Although "Victory" wasn't the greatest Jackson album (I only liked "Torture" and "State of Shock"), the tour wasn't bad.
