Love this song; it is simplistic enough for the pop style he is going for with the 4 chords, but the dissonances that he chose to allow to form with the harmony, along with the different timbres chosen, add so much depth to the song that it is not just some pop song, and the melody is a lot more sophisticated than that of most pop songs.
