The one thing that would make this better is if I can follow it with a little Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys

Thanks for keeping Michael's music alive. I have his two albums, and have always wondered why he didn't flourish in that era of country/folk/rock of the early to mid-70s. Oh well, he went on to fame and fortune (well, fortune anyway) in a different realm of artistry. I sure wish these two albums would come out on CD. Dennis, any idea why Fantasy or its successors never released these two Dinner gems on CD?

A small town radio station in Brookings, South Dakota, 1977 or so: the evening DJ played introduced me to Michael Dinner's music. If you're out there...thanks, Brad.

Thanks for posting this video. I was introduced to Michael Dinner's music while in college in the 70s (thanks to a Brookings SD DJ with very eclectic tastes). Both albums are fantastic; but the haunting "Pale Fire" is a masterpiece.

Michael's "Pale Fire" was one of those songs that will be with me the rest of my life. My life is what it's worth in other eyes. But in mine, it;s priceless.

Great story lastrada52! It is sad that more people haven't heard Dinner's work, especially this master piece. Thanks for posting.

Monster song. When I was a DJ I played Elton John's "Burn Down the Mission," Poco's "Crazy Eyes," and then followed with the unknown "Pale Fire." Even though Elton's and Poco's song are both great, great songs...I got so many calls for "Pale Fire." That night many listeners discovered Michael Dinner. It's not enough that Dinner's singing, music and arrangements are all wonderful but the musical finale of this song -- with these musicians -- is just awesome.
