Another incredible song by Michael Card. As is typical, perfect word choices combine with great vocals for memorable mental images. From the first time I heard this song, the line "Simeon takes the boy and starts to sing..." has made me continually reflect back to the mindset of Simeon, and the utter joy that he must have felt overflowing within him. Of all the things this old man could have done at that moment...shout, laugh, cry, smile, clap, pray...Michael Card says he began to SING.....perfect!! Amazing imagery.

I don't know if this song was inteneded to be written with a "Messianic" overtone to it or not, and I am sorry if any find it offensive, but maybe it will cause someone to dig a little deeper, and mainstream Jews and Christians will wake up and put aside their dogmatic traditions, and begin to listen to the unbiased Word of God and realize that there is a common thread that binds and unites us (See Hebrews 1-13).

This was my second video, second music montage, and 1st time using Vegas 7.0. Pinnacle is out the window as it is too limiting, and I will continue learning with Vegas.

I hope you enjoy the video, and find the same inspiration from the song as I did.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but the video seems to indicate that Simeon was present at Jesus' circumcision (8 days after the birth) ... but Luke 2:22 says he was present at Mary's purification, 40 days after the birth. These are two different events (separated by 32 days). I don't think the song's lyrics are mistaken, but, rather the filmmaker who has erred (in the same way the Magi are said to be present at the stable with the shepherds.

I dedicate this song to the little baby with the unclean spirit that has entered his womb. May the Lord's faithful angels carry this child through the realms of sacredness and tender healings and mercy. As our holy Father anoints his tiny body in humble grace. I pray for the child's deliverance and release that has kept him in physical bondage. May the enemy release this sacred child and flee from this sacred child's body of the most high God. I pray in your holy name Father believing that your word is true.

The song is based on Luke 2:25-35 Michael Card always bases his songs on Biblical verses. I dont know about Catholics praying to statues but they make idols out of Mary and all those "saints". Mary was just an ordinary girl who needed a Savior like anybody else. Praying to her is idolatry, she is not God, nor is the the mother of God, God doesnt have a mother. She was the mother only of Christ's human nature not his divine nature. And she wasn't a perpetual virgin either Christ was only her FIRST born. She had other sons and daughters , See Matthew 1:25, clearlt states Joseph only kept her a virgin until after Jesus was born. Jesus half-brothers and half-sisters,. children of Joseph and Mary. And saint in the Bible is just another word for believer, there are no special classes of Christians.

I meant face to face as He really is without the veil. I know Him as my personal saviour, the good shepherd, and friend now.
