Back to the song though...this was one of Truman's best, I always enjoyed 'The Talk' and 'Lombard Trial', whereas 'Crockett's Theme' was Zimmer(I believe it was him that composed that one) and some woman made an extended version with shots from the whole series, that was amazing along with the songs, most short riffs but very deep and full of emotion...as one person pointed out about this one, it is haunting and signaled the end of great 80's.  Have never made it back to Miami, but would love to get out of the frozen north and back down there at some point, and not just for retirement...

To many of you that didn't live the 80's and made comments about watching MV later unless you we're born in the 60's or 70's...I grew up in South Florida, even got to get somewhat close to a scene they we're shooting along Florida State Hwy. A1A (Collins Ave. in Miami Beach).  Miami was gritty and during the 80's a major drug infiltration point making the show so realistic to that time period, typical big city life, but it was also fascinating as well, and the music was unbelievable, even the on the tons of MV tracks are excellent. After the 80's and the show ended and all the glam and neon starting fading in the 90's, it was definitely a freefall in many ways, and the end of the greatest decade for music as well.  Not out to troll or not be nice, I feel the same way all you do, just comments on many posts regarding wishing they had been there or grew up in the 80's.  Looking back on it now, I wish I could relive it all over again, and maybe a bit older when I did since I was born in the early 70's so I could live the club and night life down there.  I'm replaying my entire 5 seasons for the 3rd time at the time I'm writing this and I recall that last episode and it was almost unbearable to see the greatest show of all time end.

I agree this finale singled the end of the eighties for me as well. Very haunting and every time I visit Miami this song is in my head..

You can't blame Sonny and Rico for quitting the force. There's always some corrupted Judge, politic or High ranking enforcer who's dirty. There is no way Castillo could have gotten them out of that mess at the end.

Definitely Miami Vice

Literally impossible for me to listen to this without crying...and it's nothing whatsoever to do with the fact of it marking the series' end- it's just so damn beautiful, and so emotional.
