Wow MFLEX, this is just brill! As with your other brill synthesizer songs on YouTube that I have bookmarked in Google Chrome, I can only sum up this brill one (Wonderful Memories) in 6 words: Jean-Michel Jarre would love this! It is so similar to his brill synth songs, as are your other brill synth songs that I have listened to on YouTube. You must have got a lot of inspiration from Jean-Michel when you composed your brill synth songs.I have to ask you this: did you use any Roland D-50 digital synthesizers in this brill synth song? And have you used any Roland D-50s in your other brill synth songs? Every time I hear a brill Jean-Michel Jarre-like synth song on YouTube that may have been done in 1987 (the year the Roland D-50 digital synth originally came out) or later years, I always ask myself these two questions, because the Roland D-50 digital synth was very popular with Jean-Michel and other brill synth artists I like to listen to, such as Tangerine Dream and the Pet Shop Boys in 1988. The three brill 1988 synth albums in question I am thinking of are Revolutions, Optical Race and Introspective respectively. Some of the synth sounds in Wonderful Memories sound like they were from the Korg M1 MIDI workstation (Universe is one of the intro synth sounds, and it's also used throughout this brill synth song.) In fact for years, I thought this brill synth sound was Roland D-50 digital synth-based, until I found out on the Web (Synth Mania) many years later that it was actually* Korg M1-based. I wonder if the Roland D-50 digital synth could produce a similar sound, or were the PCM samples not advanced enough at the time? Please excuse me by the way, but I prefer to use the term "song" for purely instrumental synth music -- it's just the terminology I prefer to use.(*Other brill Pet Shop Boys synthesizer albums are available, of course! Sorry, I couldn't resist that one!).Every time I listen to this brill synth song (and your others) I cannot resist doing my "AirSynth", (my term), which not only involves pretending to play notes and chords on a synthesizer keyboard, but also pretending to use synth controls, such as sliders or pitch bend.I am a keen amateur electronic musician myself (but I use the term very loosely, because I know very little about music theory), but I do know how to put a few good chords (and more recently) notes together to make some really nice little tunes (in my view, anyway.) I only have a Roland D-10 digital synthesizer at home myself, because I couldn't afford a Roland D-50 digital synth at the time (in 1989 when I originally bought my Roland D-10 digital synth.
