Don't get me wrong. I love metallica. But they are not the gods of metal. At least not when it comes to guitar playing. Listen to Slayer songs from Reign in Blood and Seasons in the Abyss. Kerry King and the other guitarist (not including the singer) went a million times faster than Kirk has ever went on any Metallica album. The closest Kirk ever came to playing as fast as Slayer was on Kill em' All. And even then, Slayer was still faster. It's not how good you sound when it comes to metal, it's how good you sound AND how fast you are going. And Slayer has held the crown of being the fastest Thrash band of the big four ever since Reign in Blood.
