I was in a very good mood today but then I heard this song and now I'm pissed off and want to fucking obliterate everything. Gotta love Meshuggah.

You're right, they're over the top of awesomeness. I understand Haake write most of their lyrics.

amazing lyrics and instrumental.. drumming is on a different level... Tomas Haake as a drummer is in a league of his own... he also wrote the lyrics to this song..

Eh, listening to them more...something about the way they compose really screws with my head. That and how much discordant parts they use...think I'll stick within the Obzen album, it doesn't feel like insane jazz. The slow melodic parts are pretty cool though, like the part 8 minutes into I.

That depends on what you mean by range. They do some creepy ambient stuff, which is slower and has no distortion. There are some spoken word vocals, here and there. Vocal harmonies? No. Banjo? No. It's mostly heavy guitars and screaming. I like them too, but one could argue they paint from a limited palette. It's metal, and it isn't for everyone.

This shit guides me through the doldrums of life by calling them out and imitating them, like a play put on in grandeur by the Omniverse. No punchline, just momentum.

The intro to this song so perfectly paints the picture of a snake approaching and then rearing its head at me in my mind, an absolutely brilliant song.
