In the modern age guitarist play in polyrhythm known as "Math Metal". This is a very complex style but you can see its roots and how it translates easily into the natural rhythm of Black Americans from this video.Case in point: No rock without jazz/blues scale, no jazz/blues scale without Black oppression in the American past.
